I admit that the wording is a bit odd, but I regularly use my CX status to access ACs on pure domestic itineraries despite earning miles to AAdvantage. However poorly the rule is written, the effect of the rule is simply that AAdvantage Platinum and Executive Platinum members, who otherwise would get lounge access according to
oneworld rules based on being
oneworld Sapphire or Emerald flying on a
oneworld marketed and operated flight, will not get such lounge access
based solely on this AA status.
