I would have rebooked myself, moaned and complained about it, and either gotten over it or not. (There are other alliances after all which typically are more popular in Germany anyway).
I understand your frustration, but I don't really think that this is fair on those in AA who have refrained from saying this to you outright. I suspect that everyone understands that technically you
are a no-show, which you are - otherwise you wouldn't be having so much trouble trying to get a dead ticket reinstated - but the people who are stopping short of saying this to you are doing so because they see someone in distress who they're trying to help. But what you've bought is so obscure (as we all knew at the time that the deal was running) that it's defeating all their attempts to do so.
