Just did the same thing, and since I live in Windsor, Delta seemed a good choice, even though I hear their FF program has high point redemptions. But, they have a CapitalOne Canadian credit card that gives you 2 points per dollar spent, 25,000 bonus points and 10,000 bonus after 25K in spending. 3x points for a ticket purchased on Delta. So they may have high redemptions on their flights, but you're accumulating at 2x the rate as opposed to CIBC. And I've done some research, and they have flights available at say may 1 1/2 times point value not an extra million like aeroplan. so that may work for you.
