SALARY: $61,312 to $66,287 (PM-05)

CHALLENGE:
  • The position contributes to Transport Canada airport operations, programs and policy development based on a sound knowledge of North American airport operations and the air transport industry.
  • The position requires an ability to address a broad range of issues problems within a broad context, taking into account both the operational / commercial / safety needs of airports and the social and economic considerations arising from government policy.
  • The person must expect the unexpected.
    The person has be proactive in the face of rapid change and be prepared to reassign priorities.
  • Notwithstanding a broad knowledge of airport operations and the air transport industry, the person must expect to face challenges demanding the acquisition of new or unknown information.
  • The environment demands a flexible approach involving both an ability to work collaboratively in a team and an ability to work independently under pressure.
  • The work requires an ability to communicate at multiple levels, both orally and in writing.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Extensive managerial or analytical experience working at an airport with at least fifty thousand enplaned/deplaned passengers per year, in Operational, Commercial or similar positions. Preference will be given to those who also have significant experience in a line or operational position.
  • Experience in project planning, development and implementation.
  • Experience in researching and analysing problems relating to airports or air transportation, and providing, recommending and/or implementing a solution.
  • Experience in working in or dealing with a large government organization.
  • Experience in the operation of computer software.
