We just finished up two nights at the Allison. Overall a nice property. Easily the best in Oregon wine country. I agree it is a bit sterile but it is immaculately clean and the staff is very nice and helpful.
We stayed in their base room which was on the first floor. I am not sure the size but it was large, with a fireplace, table with two chairs, a recliner chair, a king sized bed and a large bathroom with a double sink, soaking tub that fit two and a stall shower.
We used the spa which was very nice. We had a nice massage and the sauna and changing rooms are very clean and modern. The pool is also very nice and indoor which is good considering it was cold outside.
We had some issues with our heat in our room but it was corrected quickly. We also found the food to be ok. We ordered room service one night. The food was ok; somewhat bland. Prices were reasonable for room service ($15ish for a burger).
If I had to nitpick, I had really four issues. First, the hotel is cold. Everywhere was chilly. The hallway was very cold. Second, I found the bath towels to be rather small. I really like fluffy, huge, wrap the body towels. These were normal towels you find at a Hilton/Hyatt/Westin. Third, I didn't personally find the bed to be all that comfortable. Lastly, the eco faucets and showerhead spread the water rather broadly, rather than a concentrated stream, making showering a bit difficult.
