Depends what you like. Bogor and Bandung are weekend destinations for Jakarta. Tea plantations, hot springs and Taman Safari wild animal park are in the Bogor area.

Angklung musical performances (As seen on this weeks The Amazing Race), hot springs, outlet mall shopping, and a few other things are the main draw of Bandung.

The Dutch called Bandung the Paris of Java. Nice weather, pretty affordable. There is a Hyatt, Holiday Inn, and Hilton here. Reasonably priced at $60-90 a night. There is a SPG property, but it always seems to be over $200 a night when I check.
Bandung is at a significantly higher elevation than Jakarta, so it'll definitely feel cooler at night. Not cold at all, but almost refreshing.

As for it being the Paris of Java, well it's been a while since the Dutch ruled...but its most famous buildings, along Jalan Asia-Afrika, were constructed in an Art Deco style. Though, as Jaimito Cartero mentioned, outlet shopping is the big draw nowadays.
