(Curious as to why someone would want to bother transporting butter, when it's easy to buy almost everywhere.)
Some people don't want to waste it which is what would happen if,one bought a pound of butter for a trip of a few days.
Also if they are making their own sandwiches airside or on the plane, butter is not likely to be available for purpose.
