As I said that situation could've been easily avoided by allowing people to go out and have another 30 minutes of delay, rather than have them starving, angry and grumbling. ORD is a huge airport, and eateries there could easily handle another 150 people coming out at once and grabbing a quick bite to eat. Heck, buses with 50 people do that routinely - and with just 20 minutes of stop in a refreshment area on a long haul route.
You clearly have no idea what starvation is. Anyone have distended bellies from no food? Any sane person would eat when they get up in the morning. If they skip breakfast expecting a full meal on a plane, especially in coach they are living in the 20th century. Human nature is to not rush to get something then rush right back, they will go slow and eat what they bought, look around. Your extra time could cause people to miss connections they might have had a chance to make. I can see the follow up thread, people insisted on getting off plane to get something to eat, they took an hour to re-board everyone, I missed my connection that had we stayed on board I would have made. Now I have to stay overnight in XXX as there is only one flight per day to YYY. UA owes me money because they let everyone off the plane.
