Everyone, please adjust your Aeroplan redemption insurance coverage expectations accordingly. I won't doubt that some people may have been offered travel insurance from the AMEX card payment on Aeroplan redemption bookings, but if so, then it was a mistake on AMEX/RBC's part.
Interesting...I've used my spouse's points but paid with my CIBC Aerogold on a few occasions and always thought I was covered...Whoops...
