What is P, F seat and pax?
Can I use AA web site, pay the taxes and ticket it?
If I book early, does it have to be ticketed?
How does the cancellation work?
If I break at HI on the way way, how many more miles do I need for a saver award? Their first choice on return is via HI - but if I take a few nights in HI, I take it that it will be extra miles?
Once i used AAdvantage miles to rent a car in Canada - does it work in OZ too? What is the URL? On
www.useaamiles.com, when I tried, it came up with "NO_CARS_FOUND"?
"P" is (apparently) the booking code for an award seat in First Class on QF. "F seat" is a seat in First Class. "Pax" is an abbreviation for passenger(s).
There will be no additional mileage charge for a stopover at HNL when redeeming AA miles,
as long as the carrier you fly between SYD and HNL has a published through-fare between your SYD and SFO that permits routing via HNL. To book the award with a stopover at HNL, use the "multi-city" award booking engine, which you can find by clicking the "Plan Travel" tab near the top of the aa.com homepage. (The simpler booking engine which appears on the home page will not let you book an award with a stopover.) Note that you must book the stopover at the time you book the award. If you decide to add the stopover after you have booked the award, you will have to pay to re-deposit your miles, and re-claim a new award.
An award reservation using only AA, HA, and/or QF can be held at no charge for up to five days, even if you make the reservation at aa.com. But once you actually
purchase the award ticket by providing your credit card number to pay for taxes and fees, you can change the dates/times of your flights without charge, but if you must completely cancel the trip, AA will charge you $150 to re-instate the miles for the first ticket, and $25 more to re-instate the miles for a second award ticket ($175 in all for two tickets).
