Around the beginning of November there were some 250mph eastbound winds over the North Atlantic. I flew back from JFK and the captain announced a flight time of 5h 47m* to Heathrow to audible murmurs from the upper deck crowd.

*However forgot to mention 20 minutes in the hold, then 25 minutes waiting for a gate at T5.
