While I completely agree on putting in the butt in the seat time to earning status (which I have done on multiple different airlines for 10 years now), sometimes it is nice to be thrown a bone. For instance, maybe a gal has a baby in June, takes some time off work, and won't be flying again until January...This just makes me love AS more.
I wasn't looking for an argument...just sharing some info.
Welcome to Flyertalk NJFlygirl. Our venting wasn't necessarily directed at you and understand if something happens you might not travel as much (such as a deployment). As mine was the first reply- I should have been more welcoming myself- posting from a mobile platform postcounts are omitted (and they don't always matter either) - but we've been hearing various ways recently how this program is creating loopholes of sorts for status. Yes Delta and others have MQM programs associated with credit cards and the like...this was one of the things IMO that made AS unique. And if you were referring to yourself- congrats ^ Lots of folks on these boards travel with youngsters- my first trip to Hawaii was when I was 6 months old
