If you feel comfortable letting a commercial organization, that doesn't declare what data they are capturing and let you opt out of the use of it, have your data, it's your choice.

It's your judgment call, mine is different, end of story.

The only area I'd disagree with you is expediency in deciding to release data, I don't buy into that.
