best way to book Disney cruise?
I'm looking for a Disney cruise in 2015- not sure what month yet (as of now, itineraries through April only are published). I've never cruises with DCL before. It is going to be a multi-family trip (with a bunch of 4 year olds and 1-2 year old siblings), but I'm not sure of (a) the number of families coming (though I'm sure not enough for a group rate), and (b) whether the other families would like me to organize all travel or book separately, given the same ship&itin.
So, what's the best option:
1. Book myself with DCL directly
2. Book with certified Disney Vacation Planner TA, such as recommended by sites like mousesavers
3. Book with my normal virtuoso TA (who will likely see this post; hi David)
4. Book via points portal - I did see the post on booking via UR portal but haven't checked that or other portals for DCL.
I'm mainly concerned with price (base - shipboard credits), but from what I've read, folks suggest not booking directly so the TA can help with "issues."
I'm not sure of I should just compare price quotes and use cheapest or if one route is preferred for service/extras/issues.
Suggestions?
And, off-topic from above, but I'll ask anyway: some of our group have already been on DCL cruises. They will receive the Castaway club amenity upon boarding. Any way to get the amenity for the other kids who've never sailed before, in the spirit of being equal?
