hmm.. You could try. If they made a note that you requested this then they might say no (with good reason). I would not bring this up when you call and just say that you are worried about the connection time.
Alternatively, you could call and try being 100% honest...say that you noticed this really tight connection and are wondering if you could use this as a reason to switch to your preferred aircraft/routing. There are some agents who will appreciate the honesty.
