I'm 1.5 months away from 21, and I've been carded only 50% of the time in the past year. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

I won't speak for the OP, but you might be surprised. A friend of mine is 5'4", probably 100lbs, and a breakdancer, and she could probably wrestle me to the ground (5'10" and 160)
