You know if this really gets honored I will be kicking myself. I purchased four tickets to Paris/Rome (multi-city) back in October when the united website was listing Europe fares for ~$650 round trip per person. So I still got a pretty good deal, but if I could've found a way out of my existing tickets I could've easily landed the same flights for ~$350 per person, saving myself nearly 50%.

However since my original $650 fares were non-refundable I'm not sure how exactly this would've saved me money unless I wanted to take another trip to Europe which was unfortunately no in the cards with a busy work schedule.

I'm still leaning towards the fares not getting honored, especially if united gets directly involved, but we'll see.
