I'm taking a trip to the City in a couple of weeks and I'm arriving at about 9:30 in the morning after a very long red-eye (think 15-16 hours flying time). I'm staying with a friend who lives in Jersey so I have to wait until he gets off work. I was wondering if there's someplace in Manhattan or near LGA where I can get a quick shower/change and take a short nap and store my things for the day until I meet up with him.

I've been doing some googling and it turns out the Airway Inn just outside LGA and a few hotels in Manhattan (Herald Square, St. Marks, Bowery, etc) offer day rooms where I can stay for a few hours for the day. Would that be my best option?
