I too was denied a airline rewards checking account for some odd reason. When I called the customer service line to sort it out I was treated uncaringly and the rep refused to escalate the call to a supervisor even though I requested it several times.
I reached to another forum member on this thread that was able to eventually get his account open but they were unable (or unwilling) to help me out with any useful information so I went another route (filed a complaint) and was able to get the account open within a few days.
In my case, their system pulled my Chexsystem report half a dozen times but errored out during the application process. This resulted in the decline. The executive rep I spoke to was very apologetic and extremely accomodating. Said I was more than qualified for the account and even expedited the debit card for me.
They gave me their direct line so if any down the road has this problem shoot me a PM and I will forward you the credentials. Even though their front line tech support is garbage these people on the backend are awesome.
