However I can eat the breakfast happily at a Hilton Garden Inn.
A supposed 5 star property should have the breakfast down like clockwork with high quality and execution. Even if they have 6 items
You can not dine on presentation and to their credit they do that exceedingly well.

Baking excellence aside(at least at Grand Hyatt Tokyo) these 5 star hotels should be performing like a Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton with breakfast execution at their respective price points especially as Hyatt is known globally for having high standards for food and beverage

I just had a great breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza club lounge recently without outstanding produce brilliant smoked salmon and high quality cheeses and other nice offerings^ A 5 star should offer twice three x that. Though at this point I'd be happy with equal!
One morning I splurged on the CP buffet and I thought it too was exceptional
Blew the Beverly Hills Hilton down the block out of the water and was still better than the InterContinental Los Angeles.
Trying to stay on topic here for GHT....

777, since we haven't met before, it isn't intuitively obvious to you, but I am the most difficult guy in the world to please. Pleasure to meet you.

In all seriousness, my expectations are very high. While the GHT GC is a wonderful experience, the food quality is nothing amazing, and the fact that they rotate the hot appetizers in the evenings across only 3-4 days and haven't changed them in at least 24 months really irks me. But that said, the staff is great, the renovated club is great, the outdoor terrace is a nice option, etc etc. Still very much a net positive.

Having recently stayed at a few domestic Grand Hyatt's and Regency's, as many of you know, Hyatt's international properties such as the GHT is just miles and miles ahead. There is literally no comparison.

Sounds like we should do a GHT get together one of these days. So many of us there so often. I'll be there in mid December. If anyone else will be there at that time, PM me and we'll meet up in the GC for a drink.
