That hotel "near St Pancrass" seems to be the St Pancrass Renaissance, a 5 star Marriott hotel, based on AP footage. The Travelodge 100m further down the road must have been full.

The way that family comes across to me in this whole story is as a bunch of free-loaders with an inflated sense of entitlement.
