Not to take this off topic and be chastised for merger discussion outside the uber-thread (I'm sorry, I can't read through 99 pages on my phone to see if this is already discussed)... but I think this is one area where the grass is greener on the other side. As AA caters more to international business travelers than US, I don't think Dougie will be able to get away without power outlets, actual IFE options, or overseas wifi for long. So hopefully this becomes a moot issue.

I am, however, afraid to see how much a TATL or TPAC gogo session might cost, as the transcons are already a bit ridiculous IMHO.

I'm also not sure that I agree that BYO-IFE is the way to go. The connection speed is already slow enough on some flights when too many people are sharing the bandwidth. I think there's still a good purpose for having installed IFE to go along with the kettle corn.

Now, what I'd really like to see them do is discount or comp IFE or wifi based on elite status level. But I'm not holding my breath...
