As much as I do prefer Glasgow Airport, I am conscious that it's owned by BAA/HAL and as such their business model involves getting passengers to connect at Heathrow, and so I am setting my expectations that EDI is going to be more exciting in terms of destinations - at least in the short to medium term.
Yeah a bit of joined up IAG/OneWorld routing so that Manchester & Edinburgh had direct flights to Qatar (for Far East/Aus), Madrid (South America) and New York (North America). US Airways to Philly will do for now. The only real problem now is in the absence of BA Connect is that for short haul it's still much easier to fly direct on KLM/AF/etc than connect through Heathrow.
