I agree with this statement. For all of the talk about "the rules of the forum", it is hard to believe that self-appointed arbiters of valid posts patrolling the forums with snark and condescension isn't against one of them. It may work sometimes, but how many posts of value are lost due to people looking at the atmosphere here and concluding "why bother?".
