Great news and terrific flight times.
EDI has been on the cards a long time.
I remember once back in early 2012 I was in the lift with Akbar Al Baker and he asked me where my family were from originally. I said Newcastle and he replied back "I am sorry but we cannot fly there, Emirates will be too aggressive with their prices ... but I want more flights to the UK so perhaps you can go to Edinburgh instead"!
I was hoping for QR at NCL, just to provide competition for EK, but now I have the answer. Although they do compete with each other at MAN.
Although a trip up on East Coast to EDI isn't really a hardship
