Looking at what calculator?
BA's award program is distance/segment based. JFK-DUB is in a higher distance band than BOS-DUB.
BOS-DUB is in the lowest distance band for a TATL, so unless the continents move closer you will not find a cheaper award.
Not according to BA flight award calculator. BOS-DUB is 24500 one way and JFK-DUB is the same points, and 5000 cheaper one way if partner is used. While I have read a post reporting different information, this was on the official website.
