Yes there was, causing serious re-evaluation of the phrase "dirt cheap."
Had to look up the numbers (it has been a while). 21 million tons of dirt, $2 million dollars.
Seams like $0.10 a ton is fairly cheap. The dirt has no cost, but one does have transport it. If a dump truck can hold 10 tons, this would be $1 for a load.
