Terrible news. UA should have never allowed the PAX on in the first place if the pax was not in a stable condition.

If I had to sit next to the person I would be pretty traumatized as I have never seen someone die in front of me. It would have been a lot worse if a six or seven year old has to witness such scene. Also UA exposed themselves to some potential serious legal consequences.

Heck the OP was not even sitting next to the person and it was still a very disturbing experience.

Sometimes it is good to do the right thing, but sometimes it is not. This one was not one of those situations. I hope UA took the plane out of service, disinfected the plane and changed the seats in row one.
