There was some info on one of their slides about routing traffic to optimize profit margin. I can't recall the exact wording, but obvious to me they are using some programming "logic" to route traffic the way they want it to go.
Not sure if that is what is effecting the multiple destination searched (which I can't get to work now either). Seems to me they run the risk of customers just not booking with UA if they don't see the route/schedule they want....
Course, that may be very well happening. Could explain the routes being cut in Asia
