However if you have a car and not needing to enjoy easy walking distanceto the quarter the HR location issue shouldn't matter.
If I was going to stay in a high rise busy impersonal convention hotel like the Hyatt Regency in my twenty plus years of visiting NOLA I would head for the Westin Canal Place or the Hilton Riverside ^
Possible alternatives but with strong locations and solid enough accommodations would include the Sheraton and the W
The Hilton Riverside has hands down the best full service state of the art fitness center and great recognition for Diamonds
into Luxury river view suites even on rates as low as 79 dollars a night^
Hopefully the Hyatt Regency could take a few learning lessons on running a great hotel and that isn't limited to elite upgrades
If I was with Hyatt corporate I would send general manager and most team members from HR New Orleans for training at the Grand Hyatt DFW for complete experience in Hyatt training procedures
The Hilton New Orleans has had great management even before Katrina and that's coming from a Hyatt Loyalist who prefers Hyatt over Hilton
The legendary Fred Sawyers of Hilton Riverside who lead hotel guests safely through Katrina now works for Starwood and they are lucky to have him
That's a great leader! Sorry for getting off topic to much information

Have a wonderful stay in New Orleans a favorite city of mine that changed my life forever
