ATL<->MEX on DL metal usually hugs the coast and we get connectivity from a tower that looks to be around Galveston; connection loss/pickup point is a bit north of La Pesca.

The few times we've had to head further out in the Gulf due to weather, the loss point seems closer to the Louisiana coast, but on ATL<->MEX, we seem to have connectivity approx. 175 miles from the tower last I tried to calculate it... which is, of course, only a matter of minutes .
