Flight Change to with Lower Fare - Difference Pays Change Fee?
I've never changed my flight before where I ended up with a lower total fare, so not sure how this works. But if that happens, can the fare difference be used to pay for the change fee? Or is the change fee completely separate and must be paid regardless of what happens to your fare?

Simpler:
OLD: $475 total fare
NEW: $413 total fare -- can the $62 difference be applied to pay the change fee?
