One thing to keep in mind is that 5+ segments will prevent you from doing OLCI. Just factor that into your planning (I.e. will need to check in at the airport).

I booked a 14 segment trip on the phone, and no one asked anything

I fed her the segments, she read them back, she put me on hold for 25 minutes to talk to ticketing, and it was done.

I had more questions by CBSA/CBP than from anyone at AC. You're paying AC to fly you around. They don't care why.
