Not quite sure how that's disenfranchisement, but at least FT doesn't require you to be a certain age and reside here for so many years before allowing you to run.

Go for it next year! But hint: it helps if you work really hard at contributing around the forums and helping people with their questions. Hard to get elected otherwise.
