To be honest a meal at a hawker centre or food court is always going to be better than pre-prepared, reheated tray food served on a plane. That's why ex-SIN I eat before my flight and usually skip the onboard meal(s).
As much as I think some hawker food can be excellent, dish for dish I will take the reheated Chilean Sea Bass that is served in CX or SQ F over hawker food.
