So rules are rules. Credit is usually given based on fare code alone, so it's worth knowing what your ticket says.
This is incorrect. The only way you'll ever earn miles on an award ticket (where the entire base fare is paid in a mileage currency) is in error, primarily stemming from irregular operations.
