From Dubai to Heathrow I think there is a reasonable possibility that the airline could prove the issue constituted extraordinary circumstances which could not have been prevented by all reasonable precautions being taken. But it is not certain.
Sorry I should have said the problem occurred in Heathrow on the incoming flight, so the fault did not happen whilst in Dubai
