I will hit DM about 5 days before my wife is scheduled to travel. Planning to gift her GM as soon as possible afterwards. On delta.com, it says it can take up to two weeks for gifted status to be effective.

What is the likelihood, she will receive status before her flight? Does it really take two weeks?
