Gee, Sorry I missed your questions back in March. So, I'm not sure which lodge I stayed at. I really wouldn't recommend it anyway. The cabins were tiny with no ventilation. Neither of the ones you mention sound like it. We did drive ourselves in Sarawak. From what I saw, I think driving in Sabah is fine, too. The roads looked good (no potholes) and the drivers were not awful. It was certainly more harrowing than Europe, but much less than India (not that I've ever tried to drive myself in India, but I have sat in lots of cars, invoking a God I don't believe in and every other God I've heard of to keep me safe). Actually, I'm thinking of a second trip to Sabah. We want to dive Layang Layang (or my dive buddy does).

We were in Sri Lanka in mid Feb and the weather was fine. We were in the central area of the country, so the weather may be different along the coasts.
