Can a Bank of American temporary ATM card be used abroad?
Dont know about China either but I have used them in Europe to get cash. It is a debit card without chip. And I usually call them to let them know about the countries I intend to visit.

The number for that is 1-877-833-5617
And if you have issues overseas the collect number is 1-770-723-2027
