This is my impression as well. FAs know who the nonrevs are but don't know who has an award tciket because passengers on award tickets aren't supposed to be treated differently on board.
It's printed on the manifest who they are, where they are seated, and their priority code.

I do work the gate on Delta flights at the station. I don't know if the computer puts award tix holders first on the invol list, but if it does, that is what we go by. I don't handle international flights, so that may be different, but I know that I can't look at our GUI and see who's got an award ticket and who doesn't.
I'm not trying to be obtuse just to be obtuse, I have to so I don't get in trouble at work. On the other hand, I also used to be an elite. I fought for that one seat up front on a revenue ticket, have had my bags lost, praying for everyone else to show so that I could get the VDB, and flown mistake fares.
So, having said that, I agree that if they are moving award tix holders first on the invol list just because they didn't pay for the ticket, that's a pretty crappy move. If that's how they want to run their business, then so be it.
