FWIW- The F/A's made an announcement that the $6 for live TV was an error (it should be free), but unfortunately "there's nothing we can do about it". To their credit, they did try a good old fashioned reboot before giving up.

I get that airlines are only profitable these days due to ancillary fees, but $6 to watch TV? Ouch. Very ouch.
There have been posts in other threads recently that report the same exact thing happening, having to pay for the free satellite TV channels. It's very much an error, and it's looking like it's happening more and more.
