Augers!

As in plumbing. I can't recall the prices, but I'm sure that the sum is less than half the price of a single home service call for a plumber. In fact, it was a plumber friend of mine who recommended that I get these.

These things have cleared clogs every single time we've had them. They've saved me well over a dozen plumber service calls, not to mention the expense and marginal effectiveness of using Drano.

Yes, I know that's not travel-related, but I cannot help but be an auger proselytizer.
