I had the same question, though posted (and not answered yet) in Avianca/TACA forum. Maybe you guys have a better idea.

Planning a trip to Peru. The way there is easy with ample connection time (90min in SAL) going to LIM. Question is on the reverse.

I will be coming from CUZ. CUZ-LIM-SAL-IAD

CUZ-LIM Dep 8:05a - Arr 9:30am
LIM-SAL Dep 10:30a - Arr 2:00p
SAL-IAD Dep 2:57p

So a few questions... and realize the entire trip would be TACA - booked under one ticket.

1. The connection time in LIM - is that sufficient? I realize that the CUZ flights can be delayed, and frequently. BUT, if it is on-time, do I need to retrieve baggage in LIM or can I just head straight to the gate for SAL since it's on one ticket and same airline?

2. is 57mins in SAL OK for connection?

3. If I get mis-connected in LIM, what are my options for getting back to IAD?
