Back before laptops I had an Apple SE/30 that I bought a form-fitting Zero-Halliburton case for. It was "checkable". I did that several times, and also used it as a shipping container (there were cut-outs for the keyboard and mouse, and power cord). I no longer have the computer, but I still have the case!
