I go there for business but there isn't very much of that happening on any route going into HNL, the fares relate to the tourist trade and I can't see it being competitive or strategically interesting to BA. Best left to Virgin unfortunately. At the various BA events I've been to, and questionnaires I get, it has never been mentioned.
Only way I see it happening is as an extension of a YVR route. BA would have to be able to have pax paying higher biz traveler fares to Canada, then be able to pick up additional tourist traffic for the relatively short hop to HNL. Wouldn't work to go via LAX or SFO due to US laws prohibiting foreign airlines transporting pax on wholly domestic routes (so BA could drop pax in CA, but couldn't pick any new ones up).
