Like AC, Chorus is a pretty mature company with some quite senior staff. I'm not sure if it is true, but I heard a while ago that Jazz has the highest CASM of any airline in North America. Yes the CRJ is a big part of it, but if US regional carriers are able to get their operating costs lower with a larger ratio of CRJ than Jazz has there is an issue.

AC's objective is to cut costs. Whether I'm on a Sky Regional or Jazz plane makes no discernible difference to me. Moving the E75 to Sky Regional instead of Jazz suggests what will be happening to the US flying up for bid, IMHO.
