I posted a question in the NJ (or NYC) forum about this a while ago, but it seems that regardless of how you do it (before the turnstile or after it), there is no way to the streets by the Newark Rail Station...which is too bad, because there is a White Castle right there and it's the only station on the 'right side' of the tracks to walk around...

Are you saying that you should be able to hop on a train at Newark Airport and head into Newark Penn for free and have it 'permissible'? I just asked this same question a few days ago, but when I did my trip (on Monday), I just went downstairs and took the NJT #62 bus to Newark Penn and then the PATH train from there to New York - which is where I was headed...but it would have obviously been easier to use my Amtrak ticket to pass through the turnstile and use the same 'fare zone' to hop to Newark Penn then take the PATH train from there!!! Do you have any experience doing this at all?!?
