Have also done it where Person B claims to have lost the ticket, so is just asked for the car registration number.
yes that would be my suggestion, the lost ticket chare is same as fee for parking, assumes you both have a key for same car, but should work in theory.
Other option is to use Hatton Cross where you leave a sticker on the window, with a timed stay, and its 6 pounds per day, not sure the time limits though.
