If you're really paranoid about safety, then South Park or the Ballantyne area are probably the safest.

The airport area is probably the "seediest" area where MR has properties, as well as some parts of the University area, but overall IMO safety at Charlotte area MR properties is much less of a concern than in a lot of other cities.

On a general note as to the topic of the thread, I just noticed that apparently they are opening a Fairfield Inn uptown in February and a Courtyard in the Northlake area in December.
